Final preparations for Skye Camanachd's 'Cuairt gu California 2009' visit to play Northern California Camanachd

The squad fly out on Tuesday 25 August 2009 at 10.15am from Glasgow Airport and will be based at Stanford University Campus in Palo Alto for the first week. Whilst there, they will be involved in coaching sessions with Northern California Camanachd, their hosts for the trip. They will also host a seminar on Thursday 27 August showcasing Skye, shinty, gaelic, music and business links, and a celiedh on Sat 29 August to celebrate the meeting of these two clubs.

In the second week, the group will move to Pleasanton for the 144th Scottish Gathering and Highland Games, the largest Highland Gathering in North America, on 5 and 6 September where they will be playing demonstration games to crowds of over 10,000.

The full party for the 2 week trip is; Donnie Campbell, Kenny Campbell, Angus "Bruchie" MacDonald, Marion MacDonald, Jamie Gannon, Iain Nicolson, Steven Morrison, David Grant, Alan Palmer, Aonghas MacDonald, AB Connor, Donnie Martin, Alice Martin, Scott Martin, Stewart Grant and Campbell Grant. The team travelling kit was sponsored by Sitekit Solutions Ltd and was presented to the group on Saturday by Sitekit's MD Campbell Grant, who will be travelling as a playing member of the squad alongside his son Stewart and nephew David Grant.
